As much as I am loving gaining knowledge, skills and a formal qualification in the joy inducing area of gastronomy that is patisserie and confectionery (who wouldn't), I still cannot resist the urge to seek out, sample and learn about the endless rainbow of cuisines the world has to offer at the same time - I mean, you can't eat pastry, cake and sweets for every meal...or can you?

I personally need a bit of savoury to balance out the sweet. Having worked in radio for a number of years after gaining my journalism degree, I also find it impossible to resist gathering and sharing my discoveries.

I started venturing into London on the hunt for tasty snacks and low cost or free cultural entertainment, currently being on a student budget. I do the same in my beautiful home county of Suffolk.

See
Lost in London and Snacks in Suffolk, where I share what I discover on these outings.

America and Australia may feature intermittently as I have friends and family there, plus wherever I may be lucky enough to end up in between. I endeavour to snack my way around the globe if I can, with a big long list of places I want to travel to. I have been to a fair few already, but the list is still ever growing.

Our family dog Toffee will be present on many an occasion, due to her impressive knack for being wherever the snacks are like a ravenous shadow, forever hopeful of pity scraps and accidental droppages. That dog can hear a crisp bag being opened within a 10 mile radius. Like Toffee, I will eat pretty much anything I can get my hands on given half the chance, so the world is our oyster when it comes to snacking potential.

The definition of an epicurious person is to be "curious about food, especially wishing to try new dishes and cuisines". I only discovered this recently and it's my new favourite word.

Thanks for paying me a visit!
